A young kangaroo growing up in the beautiful Australian outback, finds herself outgrowing the safety and comfort of her mum's pouch. Growing up is challenging no matter who you are. But when disaster strikes, Ali realises there might be someone else who needs her mum's help more than she does. Will Ali find the courage to share her mum's pouch with someone who needs it more than she does?
My book was inspired by the horrific wildfires that Australia suffered in what is now being called the Black Summer in 2019/2020. It is estimated that 5.5 million hectares and 3 billion animals were affected - some species are believed to have even been driven to extinction.
This book approaches this subject in a child friendly manner and using animals as a way to connect.
